Somewhere on Earth a volcano is almost always erupting. Here you can see which ones are active this week — Etna, Kilauea, the volcanoes of Kamchatka and Indonesia — marked on the globe where they are.
The list comes from the weekly report of the Smithsonian Institution's Global Volcanism Program, which gathers news from observatories around the world. Click a volcano to read what it has been doing: ash plumes, lava flows, rising unrest.
