Mars in 3D: volcanoes, canyons and rovers
Mars as the Viking orbiters photographed it, on a globe you can turn in your hands. Find Olympus Mons, the largest volcano in the Solar System, and Valles Marineris, a canyon that would stretch across a continent on Earth.
The relief comes from the laser altimeter of Mars Global Surveyor, so the volcanoes stand up and the basins sink. Hundreds of features are named, and the landing sites of the rovers are marked — Curiosity, Perseverance, Opportunity and the others.
From Mars you can also look up: its two small moons, Phobos and Deimos, are in its sky, and you can travel to Phobos itself.
